Growing up and coming of age in the late 60’s and early 70’s between Florida and Vermont. and my parents being to say the least very open minded. This definitely had its affect on my becoming the colorful person and artist that I am. Artistry and uniqueness runs wild in my family. After spending some time in Florida I got blown by the wind toward Tucson Arizona where I started my career as a painter. After being in the painting field for several years I had the opportunity to work with a friend and mentor Wayne Wright who taught me to hang wallpaper and helped me become a 4th generation paper hanger by trade. After doing this with Wayne for a few years I started my own wallpaper co “Malloy’s custom wallpaper company” in Tucson Az. During which time Wayne and I went to Phoenix AZ for a faux finishing seminar and added the art of faux finishing to our list of talents and abilities. From there I was off to the beautiful state of Colorado where I went to work for Tom Rogers Owner of The Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings and Museum (www.cliffdwellingsmuseum.com), where I was in several parades and even won first place with a float I designed for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade. While in Colorado I met my good friend and graphic artist Daryl Goodwin, from who I learned a lot about graphic art and sign painting. I also met another great artist and friend Bryan Duddles (www.artbyduddles.com) who I was fortunate enough to have worked with on several different pieces of art. As the wind still blow I ended coming back to Tucson Arizona, where I now reside with my family on our small ranch west of Tucson in the desert out by Old Tucson Studios where we have started our own art studio. The home of Lavenite Inc (www.laveniteinc.com), the ecommerce business my Mom and I started so we could be working from home and still allow us to continue our artistic endeavors. Thank you for reading my artist bio and feel free to browse the rest of the website and see what’s new and who’s new to the artist profile list and their artwork as well. Thank Again. Pete Malloy Jr
